Check client bank statements for missing pages and months
The expensive mistakes in a catch-up job aren’t typos. They come from a page that never made it into the scan pile, a month the client forgot to send, or a statement from the client’s other account mixed into the run. Each one leaves the bank account in Xero quietly wrong.
What Carrytick checks
- Every row: each transaction moves the balance by its amount, and the result must equal the balance the bank printed on that line. A row that doesn’t is highlighted with the balance we expected and the one on the statement.
- Each statement: opening balance + money in − money out must equal the closing balance.
- Pages: if the statement says “Page 2 of 3”, all three pages must be there.
- Between statements: each statement’s opening balance must match the previous one’s closing balance, and the periods must follow on with no gap or overlap.
- Account: a statement for a different account number in the same run is flagged.
What you get
A pass or a list of findings, each with a link to the row in question, and a one-page reconciliation summary (period, opening, money in, money out, closing, what needs review) to keep with the client file. Then the Xero CSV or a QuickBooks Online CSV.
When a check fails
A failed check doesn’t always mean the statement is wrong. It can mean a row was misread. Either way you find out before the import rather than at year end. Carrytick only works with text PDFs downloaded from online banking, not scans.
Try it on a real statement. Free, no sign-up, nothing uploaded. Free downloads include the first 15 rows; the Firm plan exports every row.
